Beliefs & Philosophy

Attending Wonder begins with a simple belief:
What we pay attention to shapes what we are able to see.
In a world that often moves quickly and asks people to adapt, perform, and conform, I am interested in another way of being.
A way that begins with curiosity.
A way that honors the wisdom carried in our bodies, our stories, and our lived experiences.
A way that makes room for the many ways people know, create, communicate, and belong.

I believe every person is a unique expression of the image of God.
Our differences are not obstacles to overcome. They are invitations to expand our understanding of what it means to be human.
Neurodivergent ways of experiencing the world, embodied forms of knowing, creative practices, and diverse ways of communicating all reveal something important about the richness of human experience.
The question is not simply how people can fit into existing spaces.
The question is how our spaces might change when we listen more deeply to the people within them.
-
We often privilege what can be explained, measured, or spoken.
But we also know through our bodies.
Through sensation.
Through movement.
Through relationship.
Through silence.
My work is grounded in the belief that embodied experience carries wisdom. This is why practices like coaching, poetry, creativity, and equine learning can reveal things that conversation alone sometimes cannot.
-
Welcome is where belonging begins, but it is not where it ends.
True belonging means people do not have to hide, mask, perform, or minimize themselves in order to participate.
Belonging requires attention.
It requires listening.
It requires communities willing to be changed by the people who enter them.
-
Wonder is not the absence of knowledge.
It is the willingness to remain open.
Wonder allows us to ask better questions, notice unexpected wisdom, and imagine possibilities we might have missed.
It invites us to approach ourselves and one another with curiosity rather than judgment.
-
None of us become ourselves alone.
We are shaped through relationships—with people, with creation, with animals, with stories, with communities, and with the sacred.
Whether through coaching, consulting, writing, or equine experiences, my work begins with relationship and grows through attention.
